Auckland, July -7. At one o'clook this morning a fire took plaoe m Ferringdon'a Owl Printing Office, Fort street. The interior waa gutted, bat the building was not destroyed, The plant was insured for £250 m the South British. A house and shop at Mount Eden, owned and occupied by ,Orooket, was burned down this morning. The damage is £600 ; the insurances £300, m the Roy a'. Dunedin, July 7. Mr Alexander Inglia, head of the firm of A, and T. Inglia, and a well-known old resident here, died this aftornoon, Mary Jackson, licensee of the Peacock Hotel, was to day fined 40b and coats fcr selling liquor ten minutes after the dosing hoar. The Hon Mr Reynolds leaves for Christ- { church m the morning to open a Irtbor Bureau there. He will be accompanied by Mr R. B. Martin, to explain the working of the scheme. Since a bureau was opened here, employment has been found for 200 men from the unemployed. A young man oharged with adulterating milk, pleaded as an excuse that the water must hare got into it through tie milk being loft outside all night m the rain. As the Magistrate had a doubt whether the proceedings should have been taken against the owners of the milk or the per* son m whose possession it was he adjourned the case.
