Auckland, July 7. Sir George Grey addressed a crowded I meetin iat Oity Hill to-night. Mr Fraser m the chair. After m>me preliminary remarks Sir G. Grey went on to speak of the present system of dealing with Native lands, and noticed the Bill introduced for settlement of Crown tenant?, He urged. that a scheme cf pensioner settlements* should be m roluced, and noticed the tind Acquisition Bill, also denouncing the present system of working the railways, and sympathising with Mr Valle io hid eoheTie. He was not m favor of proteotton pure and simple, but would enooLrage ku il industriej and oonoladed by urging community of interest on important questions.
