UNIVERSITY HONORS FOR NEW ZEALANDERS.
At the Graduation Ceremonial at Edinburgh University, which took place on the 2nd of August Ls*, 216 gent emen obtained thtir degree as Bachelors <i Medicine and Masters of Surgery. Of those seven pa-sod in the first-class honors, three of whom were New Zia landers, Frede ick Truby KL g , of Taranaki (who, as the most distinguished student of the year obtained the K r ,tl >s Koholarship), Frederick Howorth Jeffcoat, B.A. of Otago (who obtained the Stark Scholarship in chemical medicine, and the Beaudy priz-), and Peter Alexander Lindsay, BA, Of the remaining four, two were from Scotland and two from Rng’and. Niue passed wuh second-class honors, nons of whom were from the Australian Colonies. Of the reddue of 200, eleven were Australians New Zealanders. The result is that New Zealand, in Iti only five repress a »tl es, has had the singular hi nor of finding three of these In the very front rank ot seven out of 216
