PALACE SKATING RINK.

The fancy dross and masquerade Carnival was repeated at tho Talace Skating Rink on Saturday evening-, in tho presence of a very fair audience. The carnival iagain passod off very successfully, there being a few new costumes. Mrs Mncaulav and Messrs G. W. Al.moro and G. McDonald save cxhiH^tions of waltzing and fancy skating. In future the Rink will be open on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday evenings. Yesterday irfternoion the Citizens' Band gave a concert on tho Cricket Ground at Motueka, having 1 jour-ney-eel across in lh.^ Wairoa, accompanied by a number of excursionists. There was a good attendance of the public at the concert, the music, which included tho test selection, "The Daughter of the Regiment," tr»iingi (greatily enjoyed. At the conclusion of the progr-inime* the Band gave an exhibition of marching: playing the .quick step, "Takapuna." Over £o was taken lat the gates as the result of the silver coin collection.
