Ho was the son of tho formor French Consul at Wellington, was educated at King's College, Auckland, and served in Prance with tho Otago Mounted Rifles. He inherited several thousands sterling from his father, but tho will was tho subject of litigation. His mother believes that ho committed suicide dramatically in order to draw attention to the litigation. He loaves a widow and child.
