OBITUARY.

MR J. M. TWOMEY. (Per Press Association.) TIMARU, November 1. The death is announced of Mr Jeremiah Matthew of Temuka. (Mr Twomey, who was a native of County Kerry, Ireland, was born m 1847. He spent some years m the service of the General Post Office m Cork, and arrived m the Dominion m 1874, engaging m newspaper work m Wellington, Christohurch, and Timaru. He became proprietor of the "Temuka Leader" m 1881 and conducted that journal for many years. He was appointed ;fco the Legislative Council I from 1898 to 1905).
