SOCIAL EVENTS

During the week members of the Regiment were privileged to take, part in a concert given aboard a visiting British warship. The items given included a series of short sketches, into which was introduced the singing of ”Isa Lei", followed by the' singing, of the 3 Div song "ken of Now Zealand" (sung by a sextet from Raia), and' ’’iVainta Poi", the item, being concluded by a brief Hake. Quite a number of members of the Regiment wore able to attend the concert and to have tea and' supper on board, mingling with members of the crow and generally having a good look round, an opportunity which does not core our way vary often, and if tho ship’r compnay enjoyed our companv. and histrionic efforts even half as much as we did theirs, then we arc well satisfied with our night’s work. ("Bolson’s Blood” seems to have flowed rather freely during the evening as evidenced Joy our ■ rendering of "Now is the Hour" and other songs, on leaving the ship’s side.)
