FOOLING THE CENSOR:
The censor ha a a. real tough job, ; When writing home I do, . 1 We can’ say .this, we can’ t say that, : Or out it comes too true* ' So now'l have a real good scheme, . My writing’ s home in verso, And now I use iambic feet * . ' Poor censor, says it’s worse* . ' ( .'. ’’Some live on island called .He —, Another some at Hulaj, ' .’■ . But ; both our units' are not far, , From city called The' weather 1 ;t here 'today is fire, And . things -of g filter be, The Y«‘ ■! -r n , t ho. plane s 9 . the -‘•■••--floot, We’ re. hoar* so we can see* y ■ ■ .., ■ • .. , • The alro •— » that fly above,- . x My, what a noise they make,; x , 4 . .And?, when thq‘ six guns go off r . . ■ They make, the whole place. c , ( And in our camp, There’s many / men ? ; x And if you the number' guess, . 'And said 10,000 strong are you ? The answer'would' bo «--• ■ The grub/ the grub, Adi me, he; grub, -•■•’ It’s canned as canned can be, What,would we give for steak and eggs, Hot canned*, but fresh, for tea*” • And now. the censor fills his’ time, < / In filling'blanks in,letters, .
