Old Digger Bill, in the middle of the desert, in his second war and in a bad mood, was on the grouse. “Well, you old , how long do you reckon the war’ll last, anyhow?” queried one of the newmodel Diggers. “Well, yer’ve ’eard of hist’ry repeatin’ ’erself?” “Yes; so what?” : “Well, yer’ve read of the Hundred Years War?”
