Expeditionary Force Officers I • 1 J— —- OVERSEAS APPOINTMENTS The following appointments of officers on active service with the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force overseas are published in last night’s Gazette : —
Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Brigadier) A. S. Wilder, D. 5.0., M.C., V.D., Commanding Training Group, Maadi Camp, relinquishes the additional appointment of Commandant, Maadi Camp, on return of Brigadier A. S. Falconer. D. 5.0., M.C., from hospital. Colonel K. L. Stewart, 0.8. E., relinquishes /the appointment of General Staff Officer, Ist Grade, 2nd New Zealand Division, on being placed on the New Zealand roll. He is succeeded by Lieutenant-Colonel W. G. Gentry, New Zealand Engineers, who relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Adjutant and Quartermaster-General, 2nd New Zealand Division. / Major S. F. Hartnell, Central Infantry, relinquishes the appointment of second in command, 19th (Wellington) Battalion, and is appointed to command 19th (Wellington) Battalion. He succeeds Lieutenant-Colonel F. S. Varnham, M.C., E.D., who has been placed on the New Zealand Roll. Major Hartnell has been granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel while commanding a battalion. Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) S. M. Satterthwaite, Central Infantry, relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Adjutant-General, and is appointed General Staff Officer (Staff Duties).
Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) D. T. Maxwell, Southern Infantry, is appointed Assistant Adjutant and Quar-termaster-General, 2nd New Zealand Division. .
Major R. V. Closey, E.D., Northern Infantry, relinquishes command of the New Zealand Reception Depot, and is appointed to command Ist New Zealand Field Maintenance Centre.
Major J. O. Kelsey, New Zealand Ordnance Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Deputy Assistant Director of Ordnance Services (E), 2nd New Zealand Division, and. is appointed Chief Ordnance Mechanical Engineer.
Captain J. E. F. Vogel, Central In fantry. relinquishes the appointment of Staff' Captain, New Zealand Training Group, Maadi Camp, and is seconded for special duties with an Army, Middle East Forces, as a Staff Captain (Q). Major F. M. H. Hanson, M.M., New Zealand Engineers, is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel while actins as C.R.E., 2nd New Zealand Division, vice Lieutenant-Colonel G. H. Clifton. M.C., New Zealand Engineers, who has been seconded for special duty with a Corps, Middle East Forces. Lieuten-an:-Colonel Clifton is granted the. temporary rank of Colonel while C.E. of a corps on British establishment. 2nd Lieutenant C. F. Skinner is granted the temporary rank of lieutenant and acting captain while acting as second in command of a field company. (2nd Lieutenant Skinner is M.P. for Motueka.)
Lieutenant-Colonel L. G. Goss, New Zealand Staff Corps, has been appointed to the New’ Zealand Armoured Corps. Ist (N.Z.) Army Tank Brigade.
