ON MARCH AGAIN
New Zealanders Have Good Air Support
MR. FRASER QUOTES GEN. FREYBERG
“This means that our lads who
distinguished themselves so conspicuously in Greece and Crete are ouce more on the march, but under very different conditions,” said the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser,
referring to the advance into Cyrenaica. He said that the troops were not this time moving with an inadequate air force.
Air. Fraser said he had just received a letter from Major-General Freyberg assuring him that our men were not under the disadvantages they were so obviously under', and with such disastrous results in Greece and Crete. It was true that when our troops left for Greece they were well equipped, but a great deal of their equipment had to be sacrificed.
“My thoughts are with our men in the Western Desert," the Prime Minister said. “I know that our men and their comrades from South Africa. Britain, and India, will give a great account of themselves.”
