From the Thames, firemen on fire floats gradually gain control over a fire started by German bombing. It is the day and night work and selfless devotion to duty of London s fire-fighting and other air raid precautions services combined with the courage ot the citizens, that has proved it is possible for a city to hold out and carry on no matter how bestial is Germany’s air attack.
