SERGEANTS’ DANCE

2nd Mounted Rifle Brigade In Foxton

As a gesture of their appreciation of the hospitality accorded them during their term in the military camp at Eoxton, the sergeants of the, 2nd Mounted Rifle Brigade entertained ’ a large number of friends at a very enjoyable dance in Foxton this week. The dance was,attended by the officer commanding the camp, and visitors were present from Palmerston North, Levin and Shannon. .

Black and \ white streamers, the colours of the Wellington East Coast Mounted Rifles, and streamers of black and gold, the colours of the Queen Alexandra’s Own Mounted Rifles (West Coast) festooned the hall, and the emblems of the two regiments, with their flags and the flag of the Veterinary Corps were displayed in a prominent position at the end of the hall.

Music was played by a military Orchestra and Sergeant-Major J. Blumsky was M.C. *
