ENTERTAINMENT FOR MEN OF FORCES

Wellington Clubs Active The cafeteria at the A.N.A. Club wa> very well attended during the week. The girls’ auxiliary, members of which assist every evening from 5.30, have had a very busy time as the evening meal is extensively patronized. Record attendances of men have been a feature at the club this week. Assisting the executive during the week were Mrs. P. Frazer’s party, Junior Navy League, Air Force Relations, Mrs. Ashley Duncan's party (Lower Hutt) and the many cafeteria helpers. The Friday and Saturday night dances are still extremely popular and the rooms were crowded both evenings. Miss Patsy Ashbolt and Miss D. Harris were in charge of dancing on Friday and on Saturday, Miss Denise Puttick and Miss V. Laurenson. At National Club. At the National Club tea dance for men of the forces on Saturday, Miss Pat Hogg was convener, assisted by Misses Betty McLaren, Nancy James, June Cummins, Pat Inglis, Ruth Pavitt. Barbara Joyce Phelan, Phil Whelan, Vera Wiren and C. L. Smith. Anonymous Donor, / The tea which is provided each Sunday at the Y.M.C.A. in Wellington for men of the fighting services was provided yesterday as a gift by a man who wishes to remain anonymous. Tea was served by members of the girls’ auxiliary of the Y.M.C.A., and the chairman for the evening was Mr. W. Appleton. who was accompanied by Mrs. Appleton. Vocal solos were given by Miss Amy Woodward, Mrs. A. Downer, and Mr. Hopkins. The accompanists were Miss Nola Pritchard, and Miss L. Finlay. Community, singing was led by Mr. W. Kindle, with Mr. Mann at the piano.
