NOW SERVING IN THE MIDDLE EAST
Brigadier Sir Herbert Hart Advice has been received in Master ton that Brigadier-General Sir Herbert Hart, K. 8., C. 8., C.M.G.. D. 5.0., formerly War Graves Commission* for the Middle East, has been granted a commission In the British Forces with the rank of Brigadier. He is attached to the Middle East Command. - Sir Herbert is a veteran of the South African and Great Wars, and is the only general to have commanded at different times all four brigades of the New Zealand Division. He was Administrator of Samoa for a time and went from there to Jerusalem to take up his post with the War Graves Commission. The rank of Brigadier, to which Sir Herbert has been appointed, replaces that of Brigadier-General, which became obsolescent some years ago. The rank is indicated-by a crown and throe stars.
