This is a neat trick described by a gossip writer: “I know young marrieds who have one baby and would like to have another. But because they can afford only one maid, they are afraid of the expenses. Usually it is solved by the wife deciding to do more of the housework and go ahead and have the baby.” Everybody works but father.
