GENERAL’S VISIT.
INSPECTION OF CAMPS. UNITS IN TRAINING. A visit of inspection to several camps in the Northern Military District was made on Bth by the Chief of the General Staff, Major-Gen-eral J. E. Duigan, C. 8., D. 5.0., accompanied by the officer commnading the district, Colonel ; N. W. McD. Weir. At Alexandra Park, Epsom, General Duigan saw the Ist Battalion Auckland Regiment (C.0.R.) at work and he then went to Papakura mobilisation camp to see units of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force carrying out their usual routine. After lunch at Papakura General Duigan left for Ngaruawahia camp to inspect railway units of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force as well as Territorial officers and noncommissioned officers who are undergoing training under the new scheme.
