THE HUTT VALLEY AND BAYS BOY SCOUTS

. ARE DOING THEIR BIT. For enthusiasm and practical effort the Boy Scouts of the Hutt Valley and Bays are living up to their slogan “Be Prepared,” and the “Good Deed” has taken practical shape in the establishment of a “Soldiers’ Information Bureau and Welcome Club,” situated on the eastern bank of the Hutt River just below the main traffic bridge, Lower Hutt. This club is open from 2 p.m. to 11.30 p.m. on Saturdays and will soon continue its activties on Sundays from 2 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. At the club, information of all entertainment (i.e., theatres, dances, concerts, etc.) is obtainable. Also general information about the district. There is a “Left Luggage” department where chaps can leave their greatcoats and parcels while enjoyipg themselves; a wide variety of magazines, and wireless, and bright fires all help to make the club more homely. In addition, there is a wide variety of table games, such as table tennis, bobs, darts, cards, etc., and of course, if wanted, afternoon tea or supper.
