Athletic Sports Meeting TERRITORIAL TROPHIES The Wellington branch of the New Zealand Scottish -Territorial'Association (inducted its first athletic sports meeting mi 'March 16th at the Pirie Street reserve .or min of the B (Wellington) Company of the .Scottish Regiment. The . rlicer commanding the Central Military District, Colonel R. A. Row, accompanied v Lieutenant-Colonel Foster, general staff officer, was an interested- spectator luring the afternoon. Other officers preterit were Major J. L. Macalister, officer commanding the company,-and Captain (1. Whitman, adjutant. Company trophies were presented as follows by the president of the Wellingon branch of the Scottish Territorial As sociation. Mr. .1 G. MacKenzie: — Inter-platoon sports cup : No. 4 Platoon t Sergeant Corbett). Most efficient platoon: No. 1 pla’oon (Second Lieutenant Bull). Highest individual aggregate in sports: Private Brooks. Best shot in the company: Corporal A. B. MacDonald and Private W : Armstrong. equal. Afternoon tea was provided by rhe women’s committee of the association and of the Mount Victoria Croquet Club. Mr. MacKenzie welcomed the officers of the district present and thanked those who provided the afternoon tea. Results : 220 Yards. —First heat: McFarlane, 1; Brooks, 2; Clyde, 3. Time, 26. Second heat: Tomlinson, 1; Macrae, 2; Croll, 3. Time, 28. Final: Brooks. 1; Tomlinson, 2; McFarlane, 3. Time, 27 4-5. 100 Yards. First heat: Brooks, 1.; Davidson. 2; Clyde, 3. Time, 10. Second heat: McFarlane. 1; McEwen, 2; Tomlinson, 3. Time. 10 2-5. Final: Brooks, 1; Tomlinson, 2; McFarlane, -3. Time. 9 5-8. The final was run with a strong wind. Putting the Shot.
