At about the same time there crashed in Egypt an Italian plane in which, it is said, were found plans for a full conquest of Egypt# The well-known aviator Campbell Black, then stopping over on a flight, was despatched post-haste to London with the captured information* It was also strange that in Alexandria Harbour in which British warships were anchored a large Italian liner caught fire and, burning, moved toward the bptile-nock roadstead, It is assumed that the plan envisaged the sinking of the liner at the narrow entrance, thus immobilising tin main elements of the British Mediterranean Fleets
