BUSINESS MANAGERSHIP OF "THE WHITE RIBBON”
At the Nelson Convention, a year ago, Mrs J. H. Grigg of Karori was elected N.Z. Treasurer, and when no appointment could be made to the position of Business Manager, Mrs Grigg took over the very heavy duties of this office. Prior to her trip overseas, and two years as Dominion Recording Secretary, Mrs Grigg had held the Business Managership for ten years. Great appreciation of the work she had done and the tremendous task of holding the dual office for the year was expressed at Convention. It was with much pleasure tht the appointment of Mrs H. V. Melvin of 16 Bruges Street, Miramar. Wellington, was made. In 192?, Mrs Melvin with her husband, a N.Z. soldier of World \\ ar 1, came here from Romsley, Worcestershire. On the invitation of her mother-in-law she joined the Wanganui East Union, but not until a few years ago in Wellington was she able to take up active work. Mrs Melvin has been Wellington District Secretary for four years and represents the Executive on the National Council of Women as well as being president of her own Inion, W ellington Central. In 1956, Mrs Melvin visited her homeland, and attended also the World W.C.T.U. Convention in Bremen, Germany. As she enters upon this new sphere of service in our cause, we ask for her, your special prayers and interest, and feel that, with your assistance, she will ably care for the financial side of our paper.
