Mrs J. S. Holm—Dannevirke Union One of our valued members fur -ianv years. Mrs Holm, passed away recently For twenty years our lister conducted the Bible Class in the Methodist Church, and many young women owe their Christian foundations to her faithful teaching.

For nearly twenty years she was the energetic secretary for the British and Foreign Bible Society, during which time the collections rose from £29 to £3OO. For nine years Mrs Holm Secretary of the W.C.T U. ana was always a most faithful worker. For fifteen years she was Welfare Officer for Women and Children. A widow for 40 years, she unstinting)' and unobtrusively spent her life for others; her crown will not be starless

Ceve—Timero Union In the sudden Home Call on August 27th of Mrs Cave, in her 83rd ye?.r, Timaru Union has suffered the loss of ■ valued member who had served as President, and for three years had ben our honoured Patroness. She had been District President for South Canterbury and also had been on the Committee responsible for the building of the Sailors' Rest. Although failing health had prevented attendance at meetings, Mrs Cave was always ready to help in any way sh** could to maintain the honour of the W.C.T U., ar.d younger officers seeking her advice and help felt challenged afresh by her zeai and consecration Hei service was not devoted to our work alone. A prominent worker in the Anglican Church, her fine Christian character endeared her to many. Having been a school teacher she was always interested in educational matters.
