Within The Veil

MRS. ARTHUR. ST. ALBANS

On May the 24th we heard of the passing of our loved member, Mrs. Arthur, following a long and trying illness, borne with patience and heroism, revealing a spirit in close fellowship with her Redeemer.

Mrs. Arthur was a foundation member~of our l nion, loyal and devoted, and for some time she was our White Ribbon agent. She was truly of the "understanding heart” and those visiting her were blessed by her cheerfulness and fortitude during five weary years of illness. After a long life of service for God, Home and Humanity, she has entered into her well-earned rest. To the bereaved ones we extend deep and heartfelt sympathy. MRS. J. H WILLSON, PALMERSTON NORTH ()ne of our most valued members passed aw’ay on July 3rd in the person of Mrs. Willson. A member for many years, she had had her W.R l)ow pinned on by Mrs. Lee-Cowie. Her last gracious act was to make scones and pikelets for the W.C.T.U. on the day of her death. She had sent them along, hut sudden illness prevented her attendance and she passed away that evening. She had expressed a wish that at her funeral the first veise and chorus of the hymn "Blessed Assurance” might he sung or recited, as giving her own religious experience. “Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine, - O what a foretaste of glory divine. Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood. This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Saviour all the day long.” A vice-president of our Union, she loved the work of the W.C.T.U. and had always been ready to take part in devotions or discussions or to act as tea hostess. Sin* will now be able to praise her Saviour in a fuller and better way than she could here. WELLINGTON CENTRAL UNION Wellington Central Union has suffered a great loss in the passing away of several members recently: Mrs. Jessie Cullen, Mrs. A. Davidson and Mrs. Israel. These members were all devoted workers and we deeply mourn their loss and pray that move women will feel the urge to take up this important work.
