Auckland District Executive, May 28th. The District Ire indent, Mrs. Mountjoy, presided and the devotions were led by Mrs. Cullen. It was decided to assist in staffing the Bureau being set up (or recruiting additional staff for the Cornwall Hospital. A re|»ort was given of the annual Mothers’ Day gathering at which Mrs. A. A. Drew was the si<eaker*. Mrs. Mountjoy re|x>rted on the Maori Girls’ Hostel. A letter was received from Mrs. Kasjier, who is improving in health. Remuera, May 28th. Mrs. G. Robinson presided and the Devotions were taken by Mrs. lbbetson. Members engaged in prayer and recited the Pledge. Miss Gant read the Temperance Fact. Mrs. Kennedy, Matron of the Maori Girls’ Hostel, gave a very interesting talk on the work there, and for this enjoyable address Mrs. Mackey thanked the shaker. The meeting closed with the benediction. Takapuna. Mrs. fetched welcomed representatives of the North Shore Licensing Committee, members of Birkenhead Union and Mrs. Mountjoy, Dist. Pres. Mr. Stock, organiser for the N.Z. Alliance was guest sjieaker and gave a stirring address. Rev. R. L. Gilmore moved a vote of thanks to Mr. Stock. Mrs. Morgan Richards, past President, presented Mrs. I‘etchell with the 20 years’ service badge. Afternoon tea concluded an excellent meeting. Wellaford, June 26th. Gubb read the "Thought” for June, bac.ed solos from Mrs. Yates and Miss Fk Ward much enjoyed. The Rev. S. J. Need shown to be constantly alert. A member noticed an advert, for strong drink in a N.Z. Ladies Journal and wrote expressing sorrow to see such au advert, in a nice, clean journal. Decided to get in touch with youth leaders re Quiz Competition. Ist and 2nd prizes in each section to be awarded to local entrants. Tribute to late Mrs. Young. White Ribbon Day celebrated by each member giving a reading from the W.R. Two new subscribers gained. (Quantity of literature to be purchased. Wellington District Executive. Masterton rejiorted having had a left luggage dejot at the Annual Show, at which literature was distributed. A protest had been made re the granting of a temjiorary licence to football clubs for liquor at Rugby matches. Karon reported a letter sent to the churches in their district asking for co-o|»eration in combating the drink evil and urging the need for more Christian women in the W.C.T.U. ranks. Copies of this letter to be made available for other Unions. Concern expressed over Maori youth and the increased facilities for drinking granttd to them. Discussion oil films and literature. In the afternoon, a meeting was held in the Taranaki Street Lounge, when members from all Unions attended to hear Miss Jackson give a comprehensive and interesting talk on the World Convention.

Karori, June. President, as-nsted by Mrs. Carter, took devotions and also spoke on liquor propaganda in U.S.A. Reported some children entering for Quiz. Letters had been sent to women of local churches, urging supfjort for the W.C.T.U. Three new members initiated Blenheim, July. Mrs. Forbes in the chair and led the devotions. District Conv.
