Miss Livingstone, on furlough from Ludhiana Mission, Punjab, gave a very interesting adress on the work of the Mission and conditions in that part of India. SOUTH AUCKLAND Thames. August 30th. Annual Cradle Roll Party. Wet afternoon, but 53 mothers and children attended. Programme of songs and recitations by children and tine Tem|>erance address by Major Canty of the Salvation Army. Hall decorated with flowers ‘and jiosters. Literature distributed. Orange drinks for children and sumptuous afternoon tea. TARANAKI DISTRICT New Plymouth. August 30th. Very good attendance. Miss Peterson who was warmly welcomed after her serious illness, led devotions. Letter from Mrs. Wood, at present visiting England. A talk on "India from a Missionary’s Viewixhnt,” by Mrs. Leech, and solo by Beverley Shute, made an interesting meeting. hAWKE’S BAY DISTRICT Napier. August. Mrs. Lewis led devotions. Pastor Ibbott, of the S.D.A. Church, gavr a very fine address oi Present World Conditions, and sang some beautiful sacred solos. District Convention to be held at Wairoa. Mrs. Fitzwater, delegate. Donation of £6 to Mrs. Galcen for 1 Hospital visitation work. Large number of ditty bags for Seamen’s Rest. Hastings.* August 24th. Devotions led by the President. Mrs. Grainger reported Band of Hoi>e progressing happily. Miss Furniss, our N.C.W. representative, reported on remits to their Dominion Cr vention in Christchurch. The sudden passing of Lieut.-Col. Burton, 0.8. E., was deeply regretted. He, with Mrs. Burton, had worked unceasingly in the Temperance Cause. Birthday sprays given. Social half-hour sjient. WELLINGTON DISTRICT District Executive. August 24th. Miss Kirk presided and led devotions. Re[>orts of Headquarters 21st Birthday Party, and of a film evening organised bv Mrs. Hall and held in the Eastbourne Presbyterian Church after the evening service. Mrs. Pearfr reported on N.Z. Alliance Annual Meeting. Arrangements to tie made to entertain Mrs. E. Brown, a prominent W.C.T.U. member, who is to visit Wellington in October, with her husband, the Hon. Ernest Brown, ex-British Cabinet Minister. Interesting talk by Mrs. Purser on her visit to England, where she attended the World Convention as a visitor. Remits to N.C.W. Jubilee Conference voted upon. “Bring and Buy” for Headquarters to be held at District Convention.

August Bth. Mrs. C. V. Knapp presided. Devotions conducted by Mrs. ( hristiau and Mrs. Sherratt. Mrs. Totmer gave an encouraging rejwrt of the N.Z. Alliance Annual Meeting. Mrs. Knapp sang a solo. Mrs. Wilson recited, and Miss I). Knapp gave an interesting talk on a recent trip to Australia. Next Youth Rally to be held in conjunction with special Salvation Army Celebrations. MARLBOROUGH DISTRICT Blenheim. August Ist. Mrs. 1 orbes presided and devotions were conducted by Miss Tarrant. Mrs. Webster welcomed back, but * owing to ill health resigned her position a* Measurer.
