Mrs. I»ng rciiorted that the sum of £lso'-/-had been donated by the Auckland C ity Council towards the furnishing and equipping ct the Maori Girls’ Hostel, which had recently been purchased by the W.C.T.U., and Sister Jessie reported that there were already twelve Maori girl.* in residence there, and more were exjiected shortly. Decided to assist with the St. John Ambulance Street Appeal on Friday, 12th November, and also with the Rose Day Street Appeal at the beginning of December. Arrangements were made to staff and supply the Patriotic Shop. North Canterbury.— Mrs. J. F. T. Grigg, Vice-President, presided. M.ss Gainsford took Devotions. Regret was expressed at Mis. Hall's resignation, through lii-health, of Evangelistic Suj>erintendent. A letter was 3iso received fr<mi Mrs. Puritl saying she was moving to Huntly. Reported that over £l3 had been donated to the Mayoress’s Parcel Fund for soldiers. An interesting ret»ort of the recent Convention in Ashburton was given bv Mrs. Adk<as.

Taranaki,— Oc.. 28. Held a t Stratford. J’resident presided. For first time lor years, Hawera was *.iot represented owing to absence on holiday of usual delegate, Mr*. Harrow. Discussi »n r on unsuitable pictures for children; also Temperance teaching in lay schools. Remit to be drawn up by Mrs. Lillev and Miss Drew. Plans for forthcoming Provincial Convention in February at Hawera were made. Afternoon Session—Addresses on Christian Order and work that could be done bv women to help bring it about were given by Meidamrs Thomson (Mayoress), Rogers, and Miss Drew.
