Dear Sisters, — The second-fold in our “Five-Fold Plan’’ is “Educating the Child.’’ Again and again the W.C.T.U. has reiterated its purpose to educate the young as on*, of the prime means of attaining its great goal of total abstinence for the individual and sobriety for the nation. Now. in the la>yal Temperance Legion we see this purpose being worked out Ever> Cnion should endeavour *.» mother an L.T.L. or a Hand of Hope. So many Cnions say they cannot secure leaders for L.T.L’s. Why not tram leaders? The work isn’t very difficult it is a minature W.C.T.C. in action, and if the lender is a close friend of the children wonderful work can l>e accomplished t»>: — Ist.—The programme of study, service, activities, and recreation, which altogether form the curriculum, can easily Im* carried out. ?ml. The children will love to come to the meetings if they are given tine* for conversation, sharing of experience through reports and activities, song" and plays, also a sufficient recreational programme in the light of the needs of the children. The following is an Agenda for an L.T.L. meeting:— Agenda. Hymn I )e votions. The Company Rule. Roll Call —Answered by Temperance facts. Minutes. Motto, Pledge, Allegiance. Item, Song. Financial Statement (if any). Rally Calls. Address. Items and games. Closing: Prayer and National Anthem All the I Ply calls. Pledge, Motto, etc. can he found in the Loyal Temperance Legion Constitution. Songs Playlets, etc., can be obtained at W.C.T.U. Head quarters. Sisters, do not be content to be a member of a childless Union, get a group of children together and form an L.T.L. right away. For further information write to Mrs. Bathgate.
