The Crown Prince of Sweden, who has recently been giving a visit to
this country, is, according to a paragraph in the “Evening News," a lifelong teetotaller, and non-smoker. The present Mikado of Japan favours total prohibition. At his table no alcohol is allowed. All his servants and his 3<>o police are abstainers. The abstinence movement was started in IS9S. and has now 109.125 members. Th** example of the Emperor is said to have a good influence over the youth of Japan.—Exchange.
