Taylor spoke on coming Election, stressing the need for women to ascertain the views of candidates, and only vote for those who will promise io support our platform on the Licensing question and uphold the statutory laws so hardly wt,n hy our pioneers. AUCKLAND DISTRICT Oct. .'>th Fifteen l nions represented. Letter of sympathy to relatives of late Mrs. Phillips. Social gathering in honour of retiring Officers, Mrs. Morgan Richards, President, and Mrs Ptark. (’or. Secretary, as a mark of appreciation for their splendid service, ea* h was presented with bouquet and remembrance Album. Both feelingly replied. Musical items by Mesdames Pruig and Kersey, recitation by Miss Head. Afternoon tea. Concluded with National Anthem. Meeting held on 2nd November; well attended and helpful. I>ecided to send letter of congratulation to the Auckland University Council on their action in suppressing smoking among the women students.
