1931 CONVENTION.

Arrangements have bean made for Convention to open with a meeting of the Executive on Wednesday, March 18th. It will be held in Nelson. Regulations as to members are as follows: — Members of Executive are Dominion Officers, District Presidents and Dominion Superintendents of Departments. Failing the District President, her place may l*> taken by the Vice-President, or failing her, by the Secretary, or failing her by the Treasurer. Every l T nion of 100 members or under is entitled to one delegate. In larger Unions, one delegate is allowed to every 100 members or fraction thereof. A Union unable to rend one of its own members may appoint a member of another Union In the same District. Three small Unions of the same District whose combined itm mbership does not exceed 100 may appoint one delegate, who shall l>e entitled to one vote for each Union she represents. Requests for hospitality should be sent to Mrs Down ts, 56 Haven Road. Nelson, as soon as possible. Names and addresses of delegates should l>e sent to me for insertion in the Roll. The Agenda of Convention will appear in the February issue of the “White Ribbon,” with any further details that may l>e needed. NOTICES OF MOTION, which should l»e discussed by Unions, and delegates instructed how to vote: — "Tbit Article 11. of the Constitution be amended by adding after the words "resident in the District" the words “District Superintendent," and after the words “Executive Committee” the words “in the event of the President not being able to represent her Union, her place shall be taken by the Corresponding Secretary, and failinc both of these, by the Treasurer.” 2. (1) “That Article 11. of Y Constitution lw» amended by the addition of Section 3. The training of leaders for Christian, Temperance and Social work. Section (3) in present Constitution to become Section (4).”

(2) ‘That Article 111. be amended by the substitution of ‘l/1’ in place of *l/-,’ and the addition of the words ‘no member of an Adult Union can l>e allowed to be a meml>ers of a Y Union.’ ” (3) “That Artiel VIII. be amended to read: ‘A Y Conference of one day’s duration shall be held annually, tune to be fixed by Dominion W.C.T.U. Officers. Every branch shall be entitled to send one Y meml>ers as a delegate for every 100 members or fraction thereof.’ ” (4) “That Article IX. be added, and read as follows: ‘Finance —Every branch shall pay annually to tne Dominion Treasurer of the W.C. T.U. the sum of one penny per member capitation fee, and sixpence per member for organising levy, and to the District Treasurer the sum of one half-penny per meml>er District levy.’ ” Branches which have not paid capitation fee cannot be represented at Conference. Each branch shall end its year on December 31st. Article VIII in present Constitution shall be Article X. in amended Constitution.
