OBITUARY.
MRS A. C. BROAD. On July I3th Mrs Martha Osborn Broad passed to a fuller life. She was one of the first to join the Women's Christian Temperance Union when it was organised by Mrs Mary Leavitt 38 >ears ago. From then till within a few days of her death Mrs Broad has been a tireless worker within its ranks. Her interest in the cause was an inspiration to witness. Whatever the difficulties, she could be relied upon to (U her part. Whenever any need existed she helped generously. Mrs Broad was never obtrusive or aggressive, but was beloved by all for her gentleness and her goodness. which made her great. On the day the women of New Zealand were enfranchised, Mr Broad presented her with the house that was christened “Willard,” and has since become known all over the Dominion for its open door for every worker in the ranks of Temperance. The Dunedin Union has an overwhelming sense of bereavement at the passing of our sister, and we pray ihat her example may cause a deeper note of consecration to sound in every heart, and lead us to give our very best to God in service for humanity.
