The Premier’s Nominees.

The generally expressed dissatisfaction with the present constitution of both the Legislative Council and the Cabinet leads us to hope that a strong and persistent effort will be made by the electors to secure an Elective Upper House and an Elective Executive. There is little wisdom in censuring the Premier tor his misdeeds while diiectly allowing such forms of government to prevail as clearly place in his way the temptation to an undue assumption of power and influence. The reforms desired are not unattainable, but their price is energetic and unfaltering action on the part of the men and women of the colony.
