Notwithstanding the damp wintry v eather the services have been fairly attended. A Sunday school has been opened at Kaiti, under the suo crintendentship of Rev. H. N. Wright. We have a capital roll of scholars, the various Christian bodies gladly accepting our invitation to suml their children. We have secured a splendid section of land at Mangapapa upon which to build a Church Hall. The Kaiti Committee are seeking a suiitable site and we may hope soon to have church buildings 'erected m both suburbs. Tenders are now being called for removing the east end and transepts of Trinity Church-, and attaching them to the present schoolroom. During the building of the first part of the new brick church services will be held m the enlarged schoolroom. Trintty Young Men's Club. — The first annual "meeting- ot the Club passed oft successfully. A fine billiard table has been purchased and fully paid, oft during the year. We are now arranging various games and tournaments among the members. Various schemes for interesting the young fellows m the parish are being discussed. The Club has supplied a long-felt want- m ' the districtParochial Missionary Association.— Although we have not been holdingregular meetings of late, our association is doing quiet work for missions. A good number of boxes are sent out, chiefly v for the Maori mission. -The children m the Sunday School have determined to support a boy m the New Guinea Mission School; for this they have to raise £5 a year. Ihe Bishop of New Guinea arranges that each boy f cM-^gfirl -adopted. by-.-Sunday-schools shall write an annual letter to that school. It is a ■ capital system for interesting children m missionary work, and we pass on thtsuggestion to the parishes of the TPitcese. ,
Clerical Associations.— The clergy m the Poverty Bay district have formed an association among themselves. They meet once a month at one of the Vicarages. • The day begins with ,i celebration at 10 o'clock, the morning session is devoted to the reading and discussion of some devotional work. At present we are taking Newbolt's " Speculum Sacerdotum." In the afternoon a paper on some topic of moment is read and discussed. Last month the meeting was* held at Holy Trinity. Vicarage. Rev. H. W. Williams introduced the subject of ''The Church's attitude to Nonconformity." A very full' discussion followed. Next month the association meets at St. Luke's Vicarage, Waerenga-a-hika. Bible Classes m Schools.— We are pleased .to report that regular weekly Fible classes are now held m each of the three schools m the parish. The jnimisters of the Christian bodies are working- keenly with • the clergy. " We have a capital band of .volunteers who also take classes. The householders voted almost unanimously m favor of the Bible classes being" held, and the School Committees were as a whole sympathetic. There is no reason why every parish should not move i'n this •vital matter of reaching the children i'n the school..
