MOTHER'S UNION
A meeting of the Diocesan Council of the Mothers' Union was held m Napier on Friday, June 11th, at 2.15 p.m. There was a good attendance. The opening prayers included special intercessions for guidance m the business that was to come before them. The president, Mrs H. W. Williams, spoke of the keen interest taken m the Mothers' Union by the late Mrs Henley, who had been made a life vice-president, and a vote of sympathy with her son and daughter was passed by the meeting. Mrs J. J. Anderson was elected as delegate to the Dominion Council, to be held m Wellington m August. Mrs Morse, Diocesan correspondent on the Overseas Committee m England, having sent m her resignation, the executive had instructed the secretary to write and inquire if Mrs Hetherington, who had lived for some time m this Diocese, and was greatly interested m the Mothers' Union, would consent to hold office. This action was endorsed by the council. Several remits for the Dominion Council were passed. It was decided to hold the annual general meeting m October, on the afternoon before . the opening of Synod, as has been done for the last two years; the annual meeting of the council, for the election of officers and the passing of reports, to be m September,
It was agreed to hold a Quiet Day m Napier near the end of October, possibly the last Wednesday. The executive was authorised to pass the report to be presented to the Dominion . Council.
