THE MISSION OF C. F. ANDREWS TO N.Z.

Mr C. F. Andrews is m New Zealand, and he is here with a strong sense' of the hand of God upon him. We write to ask you to read this to Jielp us and him.

You probably know something of this man, for he has written much and more has been written about him, m recent years. We know him as the best friend of India and Britain now alive. A Fellow of Pembroke College, Cambridge, English

of the English come from the very heart of liberal England, he has yet identified himself through forty years with struggling, misunderstood, aspiring Indian Nationalism. He loves both countries, and believes that they can and must understand one another, and that, through this understanding a bridge may yet be built between Europe and Asia. We know him as the St. John of the Church, the "Disciple whom the Lord loved," interpreting through books and spoken word) the living, real Christ to a perplexed, baffled generation.

Mr. Andrews is m this part of the world on a visit to the Indian community m Fiji, who have sent for him m their need, and he has come from the other end of the world, attentive as ever to any cry of the "poorest and lowliest." And while here the World Studei l 7 Christian Federation invited him Vo visit the colleges of New Zealand with his message and his personality. He is giving a full week, ending m each case with Sunday to the four University centres. He is conducting "Missions" primarily to students, iri each centre. We need utterly, the backing of the churches for this mission. Will you help us? We exist only as the servant of the Church m this part of the Church's field. Don't take any notice of party or demoninational differences, of differences m theological emphasis. Help us with prayers, with personal support. Much may depend on this. It may be one of the great turning points of our generation. Mr. Andrews' dates m each centre are: DUNEDIN.— Arrive 4.18 p.m. June 10th; leave morning of June 15th. CHRISTCHURCH.— Arrive 5 p.m. (?) June 15th; leave 7.10 p.m. June 22nd. WELLINGTON.— Arrive 7 a.m. June 23rd; leave 7.15 p.m. June 29th. AUCKLAND.— Arrive 9.40 a.m. June 30th; leave for Australia, July 7th. HERBERT W. NEWELL, Chairman, n.z.s.cm;
