Vicar: Rev. T. Pigott. As usual m the month of January many of the parishioners have been on holiday arid most of the organisations closed. The Vestry met on .January 11th when they decided to adopt the report of the Vicar and Churchwardens on the two Vicarages. The report recomended among other things that the old building be' valued by a competent valuer and offered for sale. Also if the old building be sold that the repapering and painting of the present Vicarage be a first call on., the sale money after repaying the loan. They decided to give the Vicar a travelling allowance of £80. per annum estimated at £50 for upkeep and £.30 for depreciation. . They spent a long time considering the Duplex Budget.and finally decided on making an appeal for £800 for all Church purposes, including Foreign Missions and General Diocesan Fund for the ensuing year. A social is to be held shortly which, every member of the Church is particularly requested! to attend. Archdeacon Brocklehurst is visiting the parish from February 16th to February 19th m cpnnection with the Gen.eral Diocesan Fund.. He will. preach at 11 a.m. on Sunday the/19th. it. has to be remembered 1 that the • Duplex scheme which the Vestry. are just starting to press and the promise forms that parishers are asked to sign now, does not become operative until the first Sunday fn April. Outstanding subscriptions to Church funds for the current year up to, March 31st have? to be paid m the ordinary way. •. .
