. Vicar: Rev. Canon A. P. Clarke. The old Vicarage presents quite a gay appearance after sundry repairs and two good coats of paint. The Parish Hall has also been painted, and the church is undergoing the same treatment. Miss Thomas, our organist, kindly undertook to get up a concert m aid. of church funds. A capital programme was the result, and those present thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment, showing -their appreciation
by en thusiastic applause. Mr TurnerWilliams, at; the close of the concert, moved a hearty vote of thanks to tb.e kind performers from Napier, as well as to the local friends who' ably assisted. \
A. /branch, of the Mothers' Union has now been formed m the parish. The. Vicar appointed Mrs Turner-Wil-liams president, and Mrs Butcher secretary. The first meeting -was held on Wednesday, 13th, July. After the usual Intercession m the church, which was well attended, an adjournment was made to the Parish Hall, where Mrs Henley, of Napier/ gave. a most inspiring and impressive address. Several ladies signified their intention of v joining. The'apnual meeting of the Gleaners ' Union will take place on Wednesday, 10th August, at 2.30 p.m., on which occasion the Missionary Christmas parcels will be packed. . , > Ttie annual Missionary Sale of Work is to be held on Wednesday, September 7th.
