Stanleigh, a Londoner, a clerk, aged 24 years, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, medium build, slightly round-shouldered, fair complexion, reddish hair, small reddish beard and moustache, very short-sighted, carries a double eyeglass attached to black ribbon, a new pair of spectacles in brown morocco case ; wore light-colored waterproof overcoat, dark grey sac coat, greyish vest and trouserss, and black flat-crowned hat, is cl arged on warrant with forging and uttering a cheque for £B7 10s, in favor of P. O’Brien, purporting to be signed by “ W. S Robb & Co.” (William Sprott Robb) storekeepers, Egerton, {upon the London Chartered Bank, Gordon, on the 28th May. He is believed to have made for Melbourne.

Central Police Office, Liverpool, 4th April, 1873. £25 Reward.—Absconded on Saturday, the 22nd ult., and is now charged on a warrant with embezzling £IOO, the monies of the Conway Oyster Company, but defalcations to the amount of £9OO have been already discovered, Frederick Billing, a managing

director of the said company. He is about 40 years old, nearly or quite 6 feet in height, strong-made and handsome figure, walks very erect, and has both a military and American appearance ; rather sallow complexion, rather full oval face, long thick neck, dark brown hair turning gray, getting thin over the forehead, steel-grey eyes, and heavy dark moustache, dresses in gentlemanly style, and usually in a suit of dark grey or mixture cloth, has recently got a new suit of very dark brown and black check, rough darkish brown overcoat, sac make, a blue beaver frock overcoat, is a native of England, but has acquired an American accent, having been some time in that country. He is fond of gambling, and frequents places where such is being carrried on, particularly American bowling or skittle alleys. Five pounds will be paid for such informrtion as will lead to the apprehension of Billing, and twenty pounds for the recovery of the money, or in proportion to the amount recovered.
