Stolen, from the person or Samuel Stewart Griffin, of Timaru, at Oamaru, sometime during the night of the 30th May, 1873, an open-faced silver Geneva watch, No. 20,209, much worn, a double English gold Albert guard, curb Pattern, with gold bar and drop; attached to drop is a piece of greenstone, oval shape, about three inches long, and gold mounted. One Marks, a Jewhawker, about 35 years, about 5 feet 10 inches high, stout build, dark complexion, dark hair, beard, whiskers and moustache ; and another man supposed to be a Jew, 40 or 45 years of age, about 5 feet 5 inches high, medium build, dark hair, beard, whiskers and moustache ; wore dark clothes ; who were drinking in company with Griffin, are suspected.
