... , On Thursday next, November 1, Feast of All Saints, Masses at St. Joseph’s Cathedral will be at 6.30, 7, 8, and 11 o’clock; at North-east Valley at 7; Kaikorai, at 8, and Mornington at 10 o’clock. * --- • _ His Grace Archbishop Redwood paid a brief visit to Dunedin this week, and was a guest at the Bishop’s Palace. His Grace left by Wednesday’s express for Christchurch. A meeting of the Christian Brothers’ Old Boys will be held to-morrow (Thursday), 25th inst., at 8 p.m., in the school hall, for the purpose of forming a 4th grade cricket team under the Christian Brothers’ name. A large attendance of old pupils and friends is desired by Brother Higgins. The ordinary meeting of the Particular Council of the St. Vincent de Paul Society will be held on Monday evening next, the 29th inst., at St. Joseph’s Hall, at 8 p.m., at which all parishioners are cordially invited to attend. The Rev. Father Foley, Adm., will give an address on the “Life of the Founder and the Aims of the Society.” A euchre party in aid of the local Catholic school funds, will be held in the Sacred Heart North-east Valley, on next Monday evening, October 29. At the sports on Labor Day on the Caledonian Ground a number of the Christian Brothers’ pupils took part with the following results:,-F.. Shanahan 2nd 100yds under 14 years; P. Drumm 3rd in the,same event; T. Lacey 2nd sack race and 3rd in bun and treacle race; J. McClintock 2nd 220yds under 15 years ; R. Donaldson 2nd 440yds under 18 years; T. C. : Drumm ran second in the half-mile, and T. Brosnan won the mile professional cycle race, both of whom' are past pupils of the Christian Brothers. Monsignor Coffey Memorial Fund The following contributions to the above fund have been received:- • ; Anonymous (Wellington), £2O; Mr. H. Mandeno (Dunedin) , £5; Rev. Father Buckley (Riverton), £2 2s; Mr. L. Pavelitch (Hakataramea)., £2 2s. Owing to the expressed desire of some 'Wish to subscribe towards the erection in St. Joseph’s Cathedral of a memorial to the late Monsignor Coffey, in addition to providing for scholarships, it has been decided to keep the fund open, for some time longer. Contributions may be sent to Rev. Father Foley, Adm.
