Rev. Father Graham Honored
A very large number of the ’parishioners of South Dunedin assembled at St. Patrick’s Schoolroom, on Thursday evening last, when they entertained at a social Rev. Father Graham, now of Oaraaru, and recently assistant priest at South Dunedin. Mr. M. J. Hade presided, and on behalf of the parishioners presented Father Graham with a pocket book well filled with (as the chairman announced) paper that was not easily torn. He eulogised the good qualities of their guest as a priest who was beloved by all, and asked him to also accept a pair of motoring gloves from the Children of Mary. The Otago Kennel Club, of which Father Graham was an enthusastic member, through their president (Mr. Gibson), presented him with a token on behalf of the members of his club. In doing so he thanked the gathering for the opportunity thus afforded him, and stated that his club could bear out the chairman’s remarks in regard to Father Graham being a sport, and expressed the loss the members of the club felt at Father Graham’s departure. In responding Father Graham.said that he would never forget his kind friends in and around South Dunedin. Cheers were then given for Father Graham. The following, bv contributing items, made the social one of the best held in South Dunedin: Mrs. Foote, Misses Gardner, Dillon, Stevens, and Keenan Messrs. Poppelwcll and Emery, and Masters Richards and Stevens.
