(From our own correspondent.) July 5. Tho Celtics’ first euchre party proved a great success, the Balfour Tea Room being filled to its utmost, despite a very inclement night. The games were keenly contested, and Miss D. McVeigh and Mr. G. Jordan were successful in winning the prizes, while the consolation prizes fell to the lot of Miss Meehan and Mr. Tomlinson. During an interval after supper a short musical programme was given, the following contributing items:Misses A. McGee, R. Q’Donnell, and Rev. Father O’Connell (songs),

Messrs. Connor (2) (recitations), Miss K. O’Donnell was accompanist. . r , A number of little children from the Convent Schools received their First Holy Communion on Sunday morning. During the Mass the children’s choir sang the “Kyrie” and “Sanctus,” and special hymns for the occasion. Their sweet young voices blended beautifully, and reflected great credit on their devoted teachers for the careful training given. During the month Mass will be celebrated at the following country stations:On the 11th at-Ngapara, Windsor Park, and Georgetown; on the 18th at Duntroon and Kurow ; and on the 25th at Windsor Park, Ngapara, and Pukeuri.
