Tommy nodded. “I trust,” continued the maternal parent, “when it came to the extra helpings you had manners enough to say ‘ No ’ 1” “Yes, ma,” he murmured; “I said ' No’ several times.” Ma regarded him sceptically. “You did?” she presssd. “Yes, ma,” whimpered Tommy. “Mrs. Stout kept asking me if I'd had enough !”
