Mix 1 drachm of salicylic acid with loz of rectified spirits of wine, and apply to the wart by means of an orange stick, such as is used for manicure, night and morning. Gradually the head of the wart will become black, and can be scraped away. ‘ A.l.E.’ —The daily application of our special face cream, 3/- and 4/6, is advisable when there is any roughness or the skin is chapped. In less than a week you will find it perfectly smooth; a good powder may also be used with advantage, La Cigale, 3/6, or ‘La Reina,’ 4/6, for preference. ‘ H.J.’, Feilding.— Calvo Shampoo Powders not only thoroughly cleanse the roots, but improve the growth and strengthen the hair. ‘ Aida.’—lf you will forward a sample of your hair we will be pleased to make you a switch to match, at any price, on approval, that you may see when you come to Wellington or Christchurch. ‘ Sufferer.’ —One of the best preparations for the removal of corns is composed — Salicylic acid, 30 grains; cannabis Indica (Indian hemp), 5 grains; castor oil, half a drachm; collodion, half an ounce. Mix and apply morning and evening. The feet should be well soaked in warm water. To prevent preparation from evaporating keep in a stoppered bottle.
