(From an occasional correspondent.) The monthly meeting of the Children of Mary took place on Sunday afternoon last, when there was a large attendance of members. Rev. Father Kirrane gave an interesting instruction on the aims and objects of the sodality. The annual report of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, just to hand, shows that some good work was done by the local conference. The members now visit the gaol each Sunday, and hold devotions there for the benefit of the prisoners. Rev. Father Kirrane, 8.A., is the local spiritual director. , The stallholders and assistants of the recent St. Michael's Fair were entertained at a social evening at St. Benedict's Hall last Friday by the executive committee. There were some 200 ladies and gentlemen present. In the euchre competition the prizes were secured by Miss Finnerty and Mr. Ward. Special music was supplied by Hawthorne's orchestra.
