OBITUARY
MRS. ELLEN HANRAHAN, ST. BATHANS. We regret to record the death of a very old and highly respected resident of St. Bathahs in the person of Mrs. Ellen Hanrahan, relict of the late Mr. T. Hanrahan, who passed away on March 28, after a short illness. The.deceased, who had reached the age of 76 years, was a zealous and practical Catholic, and always took an active interest in Church affairs. She was a native of County Clare, and came out to the colonies over fifty years ago, forty-six of which she spent in New Zealand, being a resident of St. Bathans during the whole of her married life. She was predeceased by her husband by thirty-six years, and leaves four sons and one daughter to mourn their loss. The funeral took place on March 30, the remains being interred in the Catholic cemetery, St. Bathans. Rev. Father O'Dea, who officiated at the graveside, made feeling reference to the > man}'- good qualities of the deceased, and especially to her exemplary life as a devoted and fervent Catholic, on Sunday morning at St. Patrick's Church.—R.l.P.
