FRANCE

AN ADMIRER OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH. In April, 1913, the School of Theology at Carentan will be moved into its new quarters, a magnificent old French chateau at Coigny, the gift to the Bishop of Coutances of an Anglican lady, the descendant of a noble Norman family. In making it over to the Bishop she wrote: ‘I am an Anglican, but I believe in Jesus Christ our God. I passionately admire the Catholic Church, and suffer greatly from the persecution she is enduring in that beautiful France whose proud daughter X am. . . I have at Coigny a spacious chateau with extensive lands and parks. I put it all at your disposal for any good work which you may desire to establish there.
