A deputation from the Dental Conference waited on the Hon. R. H. Rhodes, Minister of Public Health, last week and asked that the medical men appointed by the Government to examine the school children should take a course at Otago University to equip . them for the examination of children’s teeth and the making of a statistical record of the same. .They also asked for the support of the Minister in carrying our research ■ work among the Maoris. - Mr. Rhodes promised to refer the matters to his colleagues. He was surprised to hear what the deputation had to say as to the prevalence of dental caries. As to research work among the Natives, he would certainly give the association his moral support, and if that body wanted anything further it should see him again.
