WEDDING BELLS.
BOWLING— WARREN. A quiet but pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Mary'a Catholic Church, Hokitika, on August 19, the contracting parties being Mr Jame^ Francis Dowling. second son of Mr Patriok Dowling, Kaneiri, and Miss Mary Warren, second daughter of Mr William Warren, Dillman«, Kumara. The Very Rev. Dean Martin officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked very well in a travelling costume of steel grey cloth with white silk facings and vest to match, and handscne toque of white tucked chiffon and ostrich feathers. The bridesmaids were Miss Lillie Warren, sister of the bride, who wore a pretty coat costume of green cloth and toque to match, and Miss Annie Dowling, sister of the biidegroom, in a fawn silk lustre and pretty picture hat. Both wore gold double bar brooches, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr Austin Dowling, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man. After the ceremony the bridal party drove to the residence of the bride's parents. Dillmans, where the wedding breakfast was held. The happy couple left in the evening for Hokitika, their future home. The bride was the recipient of many handsome and useful preients. DOLAX - imOSNAN. On Tuesday, September 2nd, a very pretty weddirjg took plac« in St. Ita's Church, Rakaia, when Mr. John Dolan, second son o? the late Mr. Daniel Dolan, of Rakaia. was joined in the bonds of Matrimony to Miss Margaret Brosnan, fifth daughter of the late Mr. James Brosnan, of Gurrane, County Kerry, Ireland. The ceremony was performed by the Very Rev Dean O'Donnell. The bride, who was given away by Mr. A. Craighead, looked exceedingly well in a beautiful white satin dress with transparent yoke and 1 ug train. She also wore a prettily embroidered veil and coronet of orange blossoms, and was: presented by the bridegroom with a handsome gold bangle. The bridesmaids were Miss O'Sullivan (cousin of the bride) and ftliss Lizzie Dolan (hisVr of the bridegroom) who were attired in white silk anl ouch \v< arintr a gold wati h and oha'n the trift of the brnl< gro<.m. breakfast was served at the residence of Mr. Craighead. The Very Rev. Deau O'Donnell proposed the health and happiness of the young couple, and spoke of their many good qualities. The bridegroom briefly thanked the Rev. Father on bfhaif of hiH bride and himse'f. The health of the bride-maids was then proposed by Mr. Craighead and respouded to by Mr. Dolan. The happy oouple left for their home in the evening-, taking with them many good wishes for tbMr welfaro.
