DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS.

Messrs Wright, Stephenaon, and Co. report as follows :—: —

There was a very small entry for this week's sale, only some three or four aged draughts being forwarded, and about a score of harness horses, amongst the latter being three fine upstanding gelding*. There was a good attendance ot buyers, a number of strangers from the country being present in addition to the town seotion of the trade. The three horses referred to above brought phenomenal prices, as follows : — 1 powerful spring van horse, £34 ; 1 five-year-old dogcart iron grey gelding, by Blue Peter, from the Warepa distriot, £33 ; and a good brown milk-cart horse, five-year-old horse, 428. Nearly all the other light horses forward changed hands at equally satisfactory prioee. The market is exceedingly bare of both draught and light harness horses, so bare of the latter that one of the largest Dunedin buyers has found it necessary to send an order to buy in an Australian market iv order that he may be in a position to carry on his business. There are innumerable inquiries for good draughts for both town and country work, and consignment! coming in would meet a ready sals at excellent prices. Our sales this week in* elude a grey mare seven years old at £45, two aged geldings at £38 and £41 respect* ively, and a very old horse at £23.
